South Africa has the world's greatest array of plant and animal life and spectacularly diverse natural landscapes and bustling modern cities. It has a vast collection of diverse, bewildering and bewitching cultures, languages, beliefs and backgrounds.
Cape Town in particular offers everything from a sophisticated nightlife, the beaches, wine lands, Cape Flats, Cape Peninsula and last but not least, Robben Island, home to former President Nelson Mandela. The Metropolis of Cape Town, the oldest city in South Africa, huddles in the 'bowl' that is formed by the majestic Table Mountain, its flanking peaks and the broad sweep of Table Bay.

Owner Marco Radebe has been in the restaurant business all his working life, and although originally a self-taught chef, he polished his skills with a stint at hotel school. The Drum Cafe
The Drum Café was started in Johannesburg in 1996 by Warren Lieberman. Moved by the experience of communal drumming, he soon had a small group of friends coming round to his home every Tuesday evening to exchange ideas and share in the unique experience of interactive drumming. The word spread, and it was not long before over one hundred people were arriving to join the circle. www.drumcafe.net
